Willy's Fire Jeep
The Toledo Fire Museum recently received and now has
on display a rare 1969 Willy’s Fire Jeep from the City of Rossford Fire
Department.
The Jeep was made only one block from the museum and
purchased by the Libby-Owens-Ford Glass Co. in Rossford. After serving
a number of years as a utility fire vehicle at the plant, it was given
to the Rossford Fire Department. The Willy’s was fondly taken
care of by Rossford Fire Department Explorers Group. Research of the vehicle
showed only a few of these were made and one other is on exhibition at
the Jeep Museum in Detroit.
